HP LaserJet P4015X (P4010 Series PostScript Driver) - Issues with Printing, not printing at all or takes a while until...

Asked by Andreas Allacher

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu 9.10 with the pre-installed hplip (v3.9.8).

I am having some strange issue with the PostScript driver for this printer - however, it is the preferable one as it has far more options.
I am having a PDF file which when I print it "hangs" a "while" (over a minute) in the print queue of Ubuntu until it gets forwared to the printer.I have found out that e..g page 60 (contains an image and I think it might be related to it) and probably some others take a while to print but some are printed pretty fast. The whole print job, however, has less than 5 MB, so it shouldn't be related to an insanely large print job.

Furthermore, if I print page 46 it is forwarded to the printer fast BUT isn't printed at all. I have no idea why. If I, however, reprint that page through cups-pdf and print that file then, it works fine.

Of course, you would probably need the file to do thorough analysis but I am not sure if I am allowed to share it.

Any ideas? Regarding both issues?
