new print will not pick up (feed) paper

Try making a black copy from the printer's control panel. If it doesn't pick up paper, take it back to the store or call HP support at 800 474 6836 (Canada & U.S) as they can replace it. If it does pick up paper, then this is a software issue so follow anup's direction above.
