HPLIP

LJ 1012 printer on HPLIP?

I've just installed HPLIP on my Ubuntu 9.10 system. My HP DJ 6800 on Ethernet was recognised and works fine. The program sees my LJ 1012 on USB, but there is a communication error. Can I get this printer to work with HPLIP?

Can you please try out step 4 as mentioned in below link:
