Black line down page

HP Officejet 6500, bought two month ago. Has worked fine in every aspect, fax, copy and scan. Copy on the glass works fine but if we run scan or copy through the feeder we get a vertical black line, about 1/5 of way across right side of page, from top to bottom. Can you diagnose? I can not find in troubleshooting.
