Problems installing HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP 3302fdw in Linux Mint

Asked by Ray Oosterveld

I can get this printer to work in Linux Mint 21.3 and 22.2.

Tried hplip as included in Linux Mint and tried the latest version offered by HP.

Using hp-setup <ipadres> it seems to see the printer, but hp-toolbox (the systray icon) doesn't add the printer. Tried every recipe there is out there, manual build and install, using the .run file, I did disabled IPP as I should.

And strangly, the hp-setup only lets me choose WEP and not WPA, although the printer is on the network with WPA.

I'm stuck after spending one and a half day of troubleshooting.

Ah, this printer is not supported yet by hplip unfortunately. Hope it will be supported soon as it's seems to be impossible to find an HP printer that is supported for linux AND is available in the shops where I live.
