Printer will not print

PSC1315v will not print. It will scan using Xane. It would not print with HPLIP-3.9.2, so I up graded to 3.9.8 and it still will not print. I get a status: Started a print job code 500, then Print job has completed code 501. But nothing has been printed. Printer will "copy" a page and print it out. Cannot print from a file.

Also have message "Couldn't read xref table" What is the xref table?

Solved, but I don't know how. I did restart computer which seemed to reset the printer control.
