printer not printing alignment page

We just got this printer and I am trying to set it up. I have followed all of the instructions on the Start page and got stuck on #7 where once you connect the power source an alignment page is supposed to print. that is not happening and the touch screen won't work. Nothing seems to be lit up or working. Please help!
