Trouble installing hplip on Acer Aspire One

Asked by Jeff B

I have an Aspire One AOA110 (ZG5) with Linpus Linux Lite v1.0.6.E. I am trying to load hplip 3.9.8 and have been unsuccessful. I chose automatic install and when it asks for Distro/OS I chose Linpus Linux and then 9.5. It errors out with the following message every time I try to install it:
error: The distribution/OS that you are running is not supported. This installer
cannot install an unsupported distribution. Please check your distribution/OS
and re-run this installer or perform a manual installation.
What am I doing wrong?

The automatic installer does not support the Acer Aspire one. For this device please us the Acer Aspire One RPM package. You can download it by using the Install Wizard here:

Hope this helps!

I downloaded the RPM package but when I type the first command line I get an error: package lisbane-hpaio is not installed. Do I install the package and if so where do I find it? If not do I skip the first command line and continue with the next line?

If you get a message that it's not install that is okay. The RPM command is attempting to remove the package so if it's already removed--no problem.

Thanks for your support of HPLIP--we appreciate it.
