Localization of hplip

How can I localize hplip? The qt-message-files are existing, but how can I use them?

Because of many changes to HPLIP the localization strings are no longer valid and as such HPLIP is no localised.

We are looking at using a localization company in house for constancy although we don't have any ETA on when/if HPLIP will be localized again.
