Deutsche Übersetzung der hplip

Hallo Johannes Meixner,

wird es wieder eine deutsche Version der hplip geben? Braucht ihr Hilfe dazu?

For the HPLIP developers:

Hartmut asked about the German translation of HPLIP
and he likes to offer help.

Hartmut,
I am afraid but I am not at all involved in any kind of
translations for HPLIP.
But - as far as I know - the HPLIP developers might be
interested in help for the German translation of HPLIP
because - as far as I know - the HPLIP developers
do not speak German ;-)

At least I can confirm that HPLIP is used a lot in Germany,
simply because Linux is used a lot in Germany
(and perhaps a tiny bit because whenever appropriate
I tell our users that HP is currently the one printer manufacturer
who provides a really free driver software for his devices which
works out of the openSUSE box since a very long time ;-)

Johannes,

I asked, because I got the first HPLIP from a repository named "jmeix" (I asume, that is you) and it was translated. Where did this translated version come from?

I only compile the HPLIP sources "as is"
and package the results as a RPM package.

The HPLIP sources contain files like
data/localization/hplip_de.ts (Qt Translation Source file)
and
data/localization/hplip_de.qm (Qt Message file)
where the latter gets packaged and installed as
/usr/share/hplip/data/localization/hplip_de.qm
