HP 6500 All-In-One "General Printer Error (Ox610000f6)" after FIRST USE.

Asked by marie14

Just unpacked and set-up my new HP 6500 All-In-One Wireless and was receiving my first fax when it stopped midway and started to display "ERROR. General Printer Error (Ox610000f6). Refer to printer documentation." I have turned it off and unplugged it many times. It does not work at all. Error message still displayed. Any ideas?

This sounds like a hardware error. Please contact HP Total Care from http://www.hp.com for more assistance.

Thanks for your support of HPLIP--we appreciate it.

I would agree that it sounds like a hardware problem and hope this has been solved. Does seem as though disconnecting it from the computer (assuming it is connected to USB), unplugging it for at least 30 secs - might help confirm it is a hardware problem. If the printer resets itself and seems ok once it is on but not connected to the computer, you might try reconnecting it and running tests from software.

Just got my 6500 aio wireless. I cannot get the hp solution center to open automatically on the computer screen when I load a document into the automatic document feeder. I cannot fax from the automatice document feeder. I tried opening other settings in the solution center and I clicked on automatically open the solution center, but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Can you help with this problem?
