Wireless printing using j6480 from Ubuntu

Asked by Lyle

Does the Officejet j6480 support a wireless connection using Ubuntu?

Printing & scanning work using usb connection, but when performing the wireless configuration, (with usb cable connected), the installer doesn't see a wireless capable printer.

So am I missing something or is the wireless connection not supported from Ubuntu?

Ubuntu 9.04
HPLIP 3.9.6b

Thanks

HPLIP does support wireless printers. You'll want to configure the wifi on the printer and make sure that the printer is getting a valid IP address from your network. Then you run hp-setup and select network, (you may need to manually enter the printer IP address), and you should be good to go.

If you still have a problem pleae run hp-check -t and post the output.

Thanks.
