Installation problem of HP Laserjet P1007 in Red Hat Enterprise 5.2

I am trying to load printer HP LJ P1007 on Red Hat Linux 5.2
On installing HPLIP 3.9.4b it is giving dependency error for "gcc" and quits by saying " can not continue without this Dependency".
Warings: 7 Missing dependencies.

Please try installing using the latest HPLIP. We have an RPM for RHEL 5.x

Hi,

I have tried loading Latest HPLIP 3.9.6 . The problem is same as shown already. It is showing gcc dependency error.

Are you using the RHEL 5 RPM?

Please try using the RPM and you should have better luck.

Click download from the main page and/or install wizard, and select Red Hat Enterprise, and version 5.0.
