Xsane can't find scanner colour profiles

Asked by Skillmasters

I have a DeskJet F4230. My system is gOS, Ubuntu 8.04.The Kogan Agora Pro netbook recognises the printer/scanner and prints ok, and XSane scans a proper preview although it says that it can't find the icm profiles. When I press the Scan button it says that it has scanned but there is no picture to see. Where do the icm files reside? My printer works as a F4200 as there were no
 drivers for F4230.

The F4200 series supports the F4230.

You shouldn't need to specify the ICM profile in xsane. If you run xsane, click preference, is "enable color management" checked? If so uncheck it.

Then click setup, Color management, make sure there are no other profiles enabled.

If you continue to have a problem please run hp-check -t and post the output.

Thanks for your support of HPLIP--we appreciate it.
