During installation, can't enter serial, product and model numbers. Slots provided won't accept input.

At one point during installation of the P1006, the CD shows three boxes labeled Serial Number, Product Number. and Model Number. with a graphic pointing to an picture of the back of the printer. OK, I found the numbers on the back but when I try to enter them into the three boxes, I get no reaction. I click on a box but it doesn't activate a cursor. It's like, dead.
How do I enter the three numbers. Maybe I should be asking where I should enter them? Ed Leonard (<email address hidden>)

Sounds like you're trying to register your printer. You can do this at the HP website:
