HP Officeject 6500 set-up

Asked by ballyglas

I've set-up the printer and plugged in the USB cable but the computer isn't recognizing the printer. What is the proper configuration (I'm using Ubuntu 9.04).

The OfficeJet 6500 is supported by HPLIP 3.9.4.

Ubuntu 9.04 is shipped with HPLIP 3.9.2.

You'll need to install the latest version of HPLIP for your printer to work correctly.

Please go here for information on installing HPLIP:

Hope this helps.

Thanks Aaron - this was a huge help as the printer is now working (I also determined
that I had a bad USB port as well).
