to be able to print letters from my computer thru my HP 2700

I am not hooked up to my computer. I need to print my spreadsheets

when i try to print my spreadsheet it says i am not connected to my hp printer. I pluggd in but what else do i need to do

Install HPLIP printer driver.
Open a terminal [ctl+alt+t]
type:
sudo apt install hplip
enter..
This will install hplip from Ubuntu's Repository.

To use the Automatic Installer, follow these steps:

        Download the file to a convenient location (e.g., home directory or desktop, etc)
        Open a console/terminal and cd to the location where the installer was downloaded.
         (e.g., cd ~/Desktop)
        Type in and run this command: 'sh hplip-3.23.12.run'
