Hplip won't install

Installation fails with the following error messagepatching file prnt/hpps/hppsfilter.c

Hunk #1 FAILED at 104.
1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file prnt/hpps/hppsfilter.c.rej [ !! ]
 * ERROR: net-print/hplip-3.23.12::desktop-kit failed (prepare phase):
 * patch -p1 failed with /var/tmp/portage/net-print/hplip-3.23.12/files/012_hplip-3.20.6-hppsfilter-fix-return-values.patch

Can you give me a hint about it?

Which operating system, which version of HPLIP, which installation mode (manual, automatic, from packages provided in repositories...)?

I'm using Funtoo
I'm trying to install hplip 3.23.12 using portage system. The package is available on the desktop-kit repository

This looks like an error in the portage packaging of HPLIP. Why does it try to apply a patch for HPLIP 3.20.6 on HPLIP 3.23.12?
I suggest that you try asking there.
