error 5012 HP DeskJet 4155e Debian 12--how to fix?

successfully(?) installed HP DeskJet 4155e via USB connection with HPLIP toolbox, but as soon as i re-opened HPLIP toolbox (it froze while installing the printer), i saw that the DeskJet had error 5012! how do i fix this? i have been unable so far to find any Debian-specific info online.

OS: Debian 12
laptop, if it matters, is a HP Pavilion 15 from 2020
