What does 3700 series mean in supported list

I'm considering a new all in one inkjet printer and want to be sure it's supported for hplip. When the list says Deskjet 3700 series, does this mean that Deskjet 3755 wireless will be supported? Or only a 3700? I currently have an Envy 5055 that's not supported. It prints but doesn't scan consistently. Oddly, sometimes it will scan and other times "failed to connect" error.
