Is HP Laptop 17cn0780ng suitable for ubuntu?

Asked by Saarloop

Hi,
I would like to buy the HP Laptop 17-cn0780ng (463N0EA) with core i7-1165G7 and Windows 11 home preinstalled.
Therefore I would like to know if there could be any problem to install ubuntu on a second partition?
What should I consider with this intention?
(E.g. Is there a appropriate driver for the integrated finger scanner? But this is not so important.)

Very kind regards
Winfried

It is compatible with Ubuntu.
Ubuntu has an option to install next to Windows on the installer.
You will have to go to the Bios and disable fast (quick) boot,
and make USB 1st boot sequence.

Hi Bernard Stafford,

I thank you very much for the qualified answer.
I will need some time to buy now this laptop and I'll try to follow your indications.
Surely the installation will be easy, as I 'm working with ubuntu since 10 years. I only would not to miss some advice.

Very kind regards

Winfried
