Is driver HPLIP version 3.15.9 compatible with Redhat Linux 7.5 and with the printer CP5225dn?

Asked by Lucas Harbour

We are looking to buy printer CP5225dn and it needs to be able to support Redhat Linux 7.5. We have an older printer that runs the driver HPLIP version 3.15.9 and we were wondering of our current version of the driver is compatible with printer CP5225dn.

Current Driver info:
Name: HPLIP
Arch: x86_64
Version: 3.15.9
Release: 3.el7

Current OS info:
Operating System: RHEL 7.5
CPE OS Name: cpe:/o:redhat:enterprise_linux:7.5:GA:server
Kernel: Linux 3.10.0-862.14.4.el7.x86_64
Architecture: x86-64

Thank you for those links; they were very helpful - especially the release notes. It does look like HPLIP 3.15.9 would be compatible with RHEL 7.5 and would support the CP5225dn printer. So is it safe to conclude that all three - the OS, driver, and printer - should all function correctly together, at least just based off of this information?

Can you help with this problem?
