I can't print to any network printer after upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04

I upgraded to Jaunty too, but for me there is no printing at all :). I have 2 shared printers on windows network. With 8.10 they were printing good. After upgrade, everything seemed to work ok (printer icon showed with documents in it), except printing is never started.

Did you install HPLIP after the upgrade? Try installing the latest HPLIP from our website. and before you do that--I don't see any printer queues for your printer. Try running

sudo hp-setup

to configure a printer queue and see if that does it.

At long last...I have managed to get win box networked printing to work fine . My prob was "couldn't print to win box attached printer."
My solution ( this is on a 32 bit sys) was to completely remove samba and install samba4 then I installed smbclient that seemed to be missing. smbclient is the item that shows smb printers as a selection under printing. I then could access my printer and it installed and shows up on my ubuntu so i can now print. looking back I think that loading samba4 is not necessary but the smbclient is ..
Since I now have the same system that I thought I had after upgrading from Ubuntu 8.1 to 9.04 I am really not sure what has happened to make it all work. My uneducated guess is that smbclient was not installed or that it was removed by the 9.04 update.. It would be nice to know but I am not able to offer anything else.
