HP PageWide Managed Color P75250 support

Asked by Peter Neun

Hello,
In my company, we have several HP PageWide Managed Color P75250 Printers. The Windows users use them w/o problem. Now, I would like to ask, when the linux drivers for this printer will be released.

Thank you!

I haven't any idea about when drivers for this printer will be released.
However, there shouldn't really be a problem with using the printer.

How do you plan to connect to it? What is your OS?

Hello Brian,
Thank you very much for your reply. The OS if interest is Ubuntu 20.04. I tried to connect via USB or local area network with static ipv4 addresses. The computer running Ubuntu sees the printer. However during the installation of the printer on Ubuntu, the printer model does not appear in the driver selection gui. What I tried is selectivg two other pagewide printers sequentially hoping to get it working w/o success.

What do you mean there shouldn't be a problem using the printer? Did I miss a certain tutorial? I am grateful for a hint!

Thanks again!

Hello Peter,

If I am not mistaken, this is an IPP printer providing an AirPrint
facility. Please see

  https://wiki.debian.org/CUPSDriverlessPrinting

On Ubuntu 20.04 a USB connection would require ipp-usb:

Can you help with this problem?
