M428fdw scanner issue

Asked by Alex

I've been struggling making that new M428fdw work on Linux mint 20.2. It prints ok, flat scanner seems to work too but not the automatic one.

Using latest 3.21.8 with a wifi connection.

I get a "can't connect to device" message.

Damn. It works now. But only if I choose the second choice in this list:

https://ibb.co/mR9r5sY

Any idea what's the difference between the two ?

Last question if you don't mind:

The hp-plugin doesn't work either, it seems it doesn't identify my distro correctly:

Distro issue ? Due to my installation maybe ?

Thanks, you made my day.

Then marking this issue as solved would not be unreasonable.
