HP Laser MFP 13x series

Asked by Rafał Rusin

Hi. Do there is a plan to start supporting HP Laser MFP 130 series? Currently HP provides for linux only uld-hp_V1.00.39.12_00.15.tar.gz but I'm not really happy with that because there is no much support provided with.

Currently have issue with white border in scan area and it seems there is no solution for that. HP support is available only by facebook in my country and they claim that linux is not supported O_o

Thank you for precious link. I was able also install airscan package and successfully run of xsane on airscan backend. And found that white border issue is not driver or system dependent. It looks like firmare doing this.

Found root cause. Looks like drivers works as expected (hp uld works).
Additionally used driversless solution as airscan:
$ sudo dnf install sane-airscan
$ airscan-discover
[devices]
HP040E3C74E488 (HP Laser MFP 131 133 135-138) = http://192.168.1.70:80/eSCL/, eSCL
HP040E3C74E488 (HP Laser MFP 131 133 135-138) = https://192.168.1.70:443/eSCL/, eSCL
HP040E3C74E488 (HP Laser MFP 131 133 135-138) = http://192.168.1.70:8018/wsd/scan, WSD
$ sudo vim /etc/sane.d/airscan.conf

Adding those 3 lines to airscan.conf enabled xsane to use airscan (driverless) mode and scanner works with same issue.

Also tested that on Windows 10 64bit with HP MFP Scan tool shipped with HP driver for Windows. It seems that annoying white border is here too.

Conclusion: It seems that is not a driver or any system failure. It is firmware (LaserMFP135_V3.82.01.11_DS.hd) who causing whole issue with replacing part of scanned image with white border.

HP doesn't provide previous versions of firmware so can't test different one.
From now on will try to get some support for firmware, maybe this time hp support won't refuse me like last time.
