Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4 Print Driver Installation Issue

Asked by Justin Hudgens

I am running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4. I downloaded the HPLIP-3.21.2.run package. I followed the instructions to install. I was connected to the internet and allowed the installer to search for packages and dependencies. I also allowed the installer to install the SELinux module. The installer fails with the following error.

"Cannot find libusb support"

I did try downloading the specific installer for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 - hplip-3.21.2-RHEL7-x86_64
However, it would not install when running the rpm -ihv command. It has failed dependancies:
libImageProcsseor.so()(64bit)
libImageProcessor.so(VERS_1.0)(64bit)
libdbus-1.so.3(LIBDBUS_1_3)(64bit)

So I tried to yum install the RPM.
It failed as well with the same packages and just says "Error" when it tries to process those dependancies.

Why did you think you needed the HPLIP-3.21.2.run package?

Give the printer model.
