unable to create single pdf file for several scanning material using hp inktank 310 sereis

I install hplip 3.21.2 for my hp ink tank 319 to may desktop Ubuntu 16.04 lts 64-bit. it can create single pdf file for each scanned document. When i set mutipage page option it does not work. How I clubbed all such pdf images into single file? I set no.of pages =3, while scanning xscan shows scanning (1/3 pages) but after finishing ist page, xscan gives an error message "Failed to start scanner : invalid argument" . However, image 100 is formed but not the pdf file . Initially I download hplip 3.21.2.run and run from terminal . hp device manager is created and later I also run hplip 3.21.2 plugin intk tank 310 which is available in the hp site.

PROBLEMS DOES NOT EXISTS NOW. AFTER RELOADING AND REBOOTING , I FOUND multipage.pdf is CREATED containing several
pages, no need to assign the page no. at starts. I DON't know how to withdrew my quarry.
