I cannot find the plugin driver of HP Laserjet P1005 to use it in Ubuntu 20.04

Asked by Kostas Oikonomou

I am using Ubuntu 20.04 64bit. I installed Hplip 3.20.3 from software center.
When trying to install HP Laserjet P1005, Hplip is trying to find the plugin driver (I am using the recommended option) to let it find the driver in the Internet. Unfortunately no driver is found.
What can I do in order to make my printer functionable?

That OS's version of HPLIP perfectly suits the Laserjet P1005,

> I installed Hplip 3.20.3...

Why? It is completely unnecessary.

Finally I downloaded the foo2zjs package, and I can use my printer without HPlip. So the problem is solved. Thank you all for the answers.

Can you help with this problem?
