hp-plugin installation fails on ubuntu 20.04

Hi,

I am having trouble setting up my printer in Ubuntu 20.04 with hplip 3.21.2 as the plugin installation fails.
I downloaded the plugin manually and installed it via sudo sh as stated in ticket 690914.

When running hp-setup afterwards to setup the printer, the plugin installer comes up again and even when specifying the path of the plugin, the installer fails with the following message:
