Laser Jet Pro MFP M148-M149 hplip 3.17.5 Won't Scan.

New printer USB, first time, set up: Mint 19.3 "Tricia." Prints from computer. Manual Copy from printer. Simple Scan / XSane / using hplip 3.17.5 cannot find scanner. Checked printer model at HP hplip supported printers at hp's Developer Portal. Printer not listed. Tried: Hplip 3.17.5 installed with OS. Removed OS installed Hplip 3.17.5 installed with OS. Installed Hplip 3.17.5-GUI won't scan. I have not installed any newer issue from hp's Developer Portal.
