Does my HP-printer support all settings?

I use HPLIP for my ENVY 5544.
I use the same printer also for windows.
In windows I have not the setting "brightness".
But in Linux I have this setting in
"Xfce settings -> Print settings -> properties -> Job options"
and
"HPLIP -> HP device manager print settings -> Printout Appearance".

When I try to change "Brightness" in Linux, it has no effect. I asked me why?
Is this, because this printer does not support "brightness" and so the setting "brightness" behaves like a dummy?

Or should all settings I can see in
"Xfce settings -> Print settings -> properties -> Job options"
and
"HPLIP -> HP device manager print settings -> Printout Appearance"
work?

Would appreciate some answer. Thank you.
