hp-info doesn't report correct info

Asked by david braun

I have two printers on my network

hp-probe - bnet returns

<...>
Probing network for printers. Please wait, this will take approx. 10 seconds...

  Device URI Model Name
  --------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- --------
  hp:/net/HP_LaserJet_Professional_P_1102w?ip=192.168.10.83 HP_LaserJet_Professional_P_1102w hp1102
  hp:/net/HP_OfficeJet_Pro_8710?ip=192.168.10.82 HP_OfficeJet_Pro_8710 HPD6892B

Found 2 printer(s) on the 'net' bus.

When I do "hp-info" it returns info about the HP_OfficeJet_Pro_8710 - kind of expected
When I do "hp-info HPD6892B" it returns info about the same printer - also kind of expected
BUT when I do "hpinfo hp1102" or "hp-info 'hp:/net/HP_LaserJet_Professional_P_1102w?ip=192.168.10.83'" it reports info about HPD6892B.
What am I doing wrong?

Try probing for printer with only one printer on at a time, then turn off. Turn on the second printer and scan or probe for it.
May have some different results. It found both printers . Can you ping both printers, if so; can you pint a test page with each printer
with one off and the other on? The Ubuntu OS can determine which printer is which by the driver and the connection to the printer.
If both printers are on at the same time and both HP Printers it may favor and report on only one certain one. In other words it only reporting for the Laser_Jet Printer not the other. Are you able to print a Test Page?

Can you help with this problem?
