How to run a .run file to install HP printer on Chromebook?

Asked by leon roomberg

I have downloaded the HPLIP.run file to install an HP6960 printer for a friend's Chromebook.

(HP printer to USB cable to ASUS chromebook.)

I do not know how to execute the file.

Loading the file from the GUI pulls up an editor.

CTLR-ALT-T puts me in a command line (crosh) environment, but I do not know what to do from there.

Hi ,

You can not run .run file on chromebook.

You have to tak tar ball package from below portal.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/hplip/files/hplip/3.20.9

extract it in your chrome book.
And manually copy hpcups and hpps filter to /usr/share/lib/cups/filter

and all the ppds to /usr/share/ppd/HP folder

After that do ctrl+p

Can you help with this problem?
