Gamma settings doesn't work

I own a HP LaserJet CP1025.
Because of the colors are too dark/contrasted, I had to change the gamma value.
But this settings seems to be supported when I print through the HP Device Manager, not if I use CUPS or a standard "Print" button.
I tried to change the gamma value both in the HP Device Manager and in the "Print Settings" program ( system-config-printer ); but I didn't got any result.
