Communication failure: linux/printer

After working smoothly fo months hplip reports a "communication error'
Ubuntu ver 20.04 - hp ENVY _Photo_7800_2-46
The printer status report shows "Device communication Error (5012)
hp-check shows (inter-alia): ...
error: unable to communicate with device
           unable to open channel
          /etc/cups/ppd/ENVY_Photo_7800_2

This is wireless print transfer problem -- as stated, has been working FINE since installation.
I suspect a possible side-effect of recent Ubuntu online updates ....

Hi ,

Ubuntu 20.04 is supported with few limitations in HPLIP. Hence you are seeing device busy or communication error.

Could you please refer below link for your bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1879206

You can print via network instead of USB.
