After upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 I can't scan over the network on HP LaserJet MFP M130fn

Asked by Kamil Madac on 2020-08-21

After upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 I can't scan over the network on HP LaserJet MFP M130fn.

I'm getting error error: SANE: Error during device I/O (code=9). I tried hplip version 3.20.3 bundled with ubuntu and also newest one 3.20.6 downloaded from HP.

Print over network works.

Hi ,

Ubuntu 20.04 is supported with few limitations in HPLIP. Hence you are seeing device busy error.

Could you please refer below link for your bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1879206

You can print via network instead of USB.

Hi ,

Could you please provide syslog for the network scan ?

I had the same problem with the HP Neverstop Laser MFP 120x. A workaround is to install sane-airscan and use that to scan.
