HPLIP device auto refresh interval

Asked by Dennis Gallion

First, I cannot find any explanation for what the "auto refresh" actually does in HPLIP Settings. In particular, I need to know if this is supposed to also refresh the network connection to the router. It does not appear to do so, possibly justifying a bug report. If it it not intended to refresh the network connection, that what exactly does it do? And does that work?

TIA,

See the Release Notes for HPLIP 3.12.6.

Does this satisfy you enough?

Thx for quick reply. But no, regrettably it does not. The Release Note only appears to indicate that the refresh is shown as an option in the systray pop-up when a device is added (removed doesn't make sense to me).

Preferences offers a switch to auto-refresh one/all configured printers at a certain interval, default is 30 seconds. What is actually being refreshed? And more important, does it include refreshing the printer's connection to the router?

Fair enough. You will have to await a response from upstream
HPLIP. I wouldn't hold my breathe.
