HP Job Storage Functionality with Laserjet MFP477FDW

Asked by Fabian

Hello,

I have an HP LaserJet MFP477FDW.
I tried to find in release notes if "Printer native Job Storage Functionality" is available with HPLIP drivers.
This functionality allow to sent printing to a job storage and then print these jobs later with or without PIN (https://support.hp.com/th-en/document/c01841759) using an USB device at the rear of the printer.

Supported printer models at https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index#note9 report that MFP477FDW has a "Full" Support level starting with 3.15.11 version.

I have setup an USB device and tried with a Windows 10 and it is working.
I actually have an HPLIP 3.18.3 driver and does not find any option, parameter or tab as in Windows 10.
I will update to the last HPLIP driver when updating to Ubuntu 20.04.

I would like to know if this "Job Storage" functionality is available with HPLIP.
If yes, where and if there is a minimal version of the HPLIP driver to use this functionality or does it need additional components or setup ?
If no is this functionality will be added in future release ?

Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
