how do i download and install drivers for HP LaserJet MFP M130fn without

Asked by Knute Fenstad Jr

I'm trying to install an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M130fn using Linux Mint. HP is typically very user "un-friendly" so once again we're having difficulty installing and utilizingl their 'help" process. Can you give me algorithmic description of steps to installing these driers? Something that doesnt lead me in an infinite loop of sideshows and non-sequiturs'. Any help would be appreciated.It should something like this:
   1. goto (download site; ------.com) click on link
   2. ... ?
   3. ... ?
   .
   .
   10. click on ---.exe
   11. finished.

Please?
Thank you.

Hi,

You can follow the below steps:

1. You can download the HPLIP installer file from https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing

2. Run the installer as

$ sh hplip_run_file

3. Download the plugin from https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/plugins

4. Run the plugin as

$ sh downloaded_plugin_file

5. Then setup the printer using "hp-setup" command.

Let me know any other help is required

Can you help with this problem?
