Cant install a linux driver for Hp 7134 printer

Asked by Ian Mainwaring

The main HP download website redirects linux users to an external site. When I select a download for Ubuntu nothing happens.
I assume I do need to download HPLIP, I am trying to connect to an HP envy photo 7134 all in one printer.

You do not need an HP driver for printing. See

  https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/689393

for a printing solution.

(Actually, you probably do not need an HP driver for scanning either).

Forgot. The printer needs to be network-connected.

A favour please, Ian. Would you post what you get for

  avahi-browse -rt _.ipp._tcp

and

  avahi-browse -rt _.uscan._tcp

Its for my records.

Brian.

Thanks Brian, it now works fine. I can't seem to close the question as I
get the message that it is not in the right state to close.

I am not really familiar with how Answers works but your question is marked
as solved. I think only comments are allowed then, so my understanding is
you do do not explicitly needed to do it after marking the question as solved.

Ian, the data I asked for could be put in a new, separate post with an
appropriate subject line.

Brian.
