HP Officejet 6100 does not show empty cartridge

HP Officejet 6100 does not show empty cartridge; PRINTER WILL NOT PRINT WITHOUT REPLACEMENT, BUT WHICH TO REPLACE?
Is there a better driver for this printer for Ubuntu 18.04?
