Using Linux Mint 19.3 unable to connect to HP Officejet 9010 via usb or network

Using hplip I am unable to detect the HP Officejet 9010series. Trying to configure the printer via Cups and get an error message stating "There is a missing pintfilter for printer". Please help, I am used to hp printers connecting easily.

It would be helpful to know

 * The disribution you are using
 * The HPLIP version you have.
 * The CUPS and cups-filters versions on the computer.

I have decided to take the printer back and will try a different brand of printer.
