HPLIP installed but not working Linux 19.3

HPLIP installed on laptop with wireless connection to Deskjet 3055A and will neither print nor will the HP Toolbox open .... total

lockout .....have installed/uninstalled several times using both the Software Manager App and Synaptic Package Manager with zero

luck .... hope you can help ...... tried to check status of printer using terminal as follows:

Try: sudo apt install <deb name>

E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)

Hi ,

Please remove the lock using below command and run the command once again:

sudo rm -rf /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend

lpstat is not a Debian package.

As for the rest: it is not an HPLIP issue. Try https://https://itsfoss.com/could-not-get-lock-error/
or a Google search.

You have completely ignored my previous comment.

This is nothing to do with HPLIP. Contact your distribution for support.

Hi,
Please not that Linux mint 19.3 is still not supported in HPLIP. We will support it in our next release.

That sounds very worrying. I am running 19.3 and awaiting delivery of a new Laserjet Pro M118dw. When can I expect the new version to appear?
