HP Officejet 9025 configuration

Asked by Rogier van Vlissingen

First my old Officejet 8630 died, and then my replacement 9025 was inturn replaced by HP over a warranty defect.

The first 9025 I got working fine. but I could not get rid of the 8630.
The second 9025 I cannot get working.

I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling HPLIP, but even that would not help. I keep getting the old 8630 and 9025 printer definitions, and I can't get the newr 9025 working.

Please advise what I should do, thanks.

I might have to qualify that I am on Linux Mint 18.3.
From the above article I was unable to figure out what to do.

The printing systems on Debian and Miint are the same. Put the device
on the network and make one simple change in cups-browsed.conf.

I guess I need some more guidance. I have found my way to the cups-browsed.conf file, but I cannot figure out for the life of my what "one simple change" I might want to make in it.

Can you give me a pointer? Thanks.
Remembember, my old printers were 2, an HP Officejet 8630 and 9025, and now I have another 9025 replacement for the 9025, and I cannot seem to talk to it.
