Ubuntu 16.04 fails to find my Officejet 3830

Asked by RayArdia

My laptop's OS Ubuntu 16.04 reports 'System Settings, Printers, Officejet 3830 Series' "Connected to LocalHost" but when I try to print a TestPage I get Error message " Your printer may not be connected".
Output via the printer's panel gives a full HP Network Configuration Page showing Network Status - Ready and all other details indicating correct installation on my Eurona Wireless network.

I've never had any problems before so what can I do to restore printer to working status?

HP Device Manager Message.- HPLIP cannot detect printers in your network.
This may be due to existing firewall settings blocking the required ports. When you are in a trusted network environment, you may open the ports for network services like mdns and slp in the firewall. For detailed steps follow the link. http://hplipopensource.com/node/375
Link shown provides no help with this problem, if I am to tinker with the firewall I NEED detailed instructions which link doesn't provide.
