Does the Laserjet M130FW require a proprietary driver?

I would like a definite answer on this, since I have found contradictory information.

In particular, the official page
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index
states that a proprietary plugin is NOT needed.

However, multiple Q&A (including here) suggest installing a proprietary plugin to make the scanner work.

I am unable to buy the printer until I know this for sure.
If a proprietary plugin IS needed, could the official page be updated so as not to mislead potential customers?

Hi,

Yes, you do require plugin file in order to scan from any printer which supports scanning also.
 we will update the same on our official website as well.
