Printing in colorwith cyan background

Asked by Dennis Worthem on 2019-04-10

I have a laptop with Trisquel Linux. I have hplip version 3.14.3-0ubuntu3.4+7.0triquel1. I was printing documents in color for several months on an HP Officejet Pro 8600 with no problem. In the last couple of weeks it started printing documents with a layer of cyan over the entire page. Any idea what would have caused this? Printing test pages from the printer, print OK in color.

A similar problem was reported in Ubuntu a few weeks ago, caused by a regression in the ghostscript packages, see https://usn.ubuntu.com/3866-3/

Which version of the ghostscript packages to you use?

I have version 9.26~dfsg+0-0ubuntu0.14.04.5

I upgraded it to 9.26~dfsg+0-0ubuntu0.14.04.8 and the problem is fixed.
