The .ppd for an HP DesignJet Z9 has no large-format options

Asked by mark_roth

I d/l and installed the current hplips on a CentOS 6 server, and, after restarting CUPS, it did show support for the 44" Z9 DesignJet.

HOWEVER, when I went to print a test poster, if gave me *NO* options for 42"x anything (though I saw, in the .ppd itself, a 30x42).

Why are there no options for varying posters of 42" width?

I went through this, years ago, when we got a z3200, and I had to spend hours hacking the .ppd for that, to add 42"x[36,42,48,..].

Is there some magical option to allow it to use full width and optional length?
