hplip 3.19.1 GUI not working in fedora 29

Installed HPLIP 3.19.1 from HP's Developers web site Installation proceed with no errors till the very last .
Two errors came up.

1. No system tray detected
 2. unable to lock /home/USERNAME/.hp .......

The printer however printed a test page and web page via Firefox.

There is no icon present in the "activities overview"

Any indication as to how to resolve?

Another question.

Can the printer do Casn to file (pdf) is so how is itr set up
